Mark got really sick a couple days ago. We assume it’s because we attempted to drink alcohol on this Keto Diet while at Outback Steakhouse after a long day of work. His body didn’t really agree with his vodka soda…
So, what are you supposed to eat when you want to stay in Ketosis, but you’re sick and can’t keep anything in? Well, for starters, grab some Imodium, drink plenty of water and/or chicken broth, and get some rest!
Even if you don’t want to eat because you’re feeling nauseous, tired, and lethargic – that’s OK! Intermittent fasting is a key benefit when it comes to eating Keto. So give your body that break and let it keep burning the fat!
If you eventually get a little hungry and want something in your stomach, Tuna Cucumber Cups are a light, nutritious snack. And they’re simple, too! I made these for Mark this yesterday, while taking a work meeting from home, and drinking my iced Bulletproof Coffee.

Tuna Cucumber Cups
Servings: About 12 cups
- 1 English Cucumber
- 2 cans of Tuna in water (I use Bubmle brand)
- 3 Tablespoons of Mayonaise (I use Best Foods)
- 1/2 Tablespoon Avocado Mayo with Wasabi (optional)
- 2 Teaspoon Dijon Mustard
- Salt and pepper
Directions: Cut the cucumber ends off. Then, cut the cucumber into 1 to 2 inch pieces (enough to stuff some tuna into). Use a melon baller or a teaspoon to carve out a hole in the center of the cucumber piece. Keep the scooped out cucumber (optional) and chop into pieces. Combine the tuna, mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, and chopped cucumber scoops. Use a spoon or tablespoon and scoop out some of the tuna mixture, then place it into the cucumber cup. These are perfect snacks or great for lunch. Enjoy and feel better if you’re under-the-weather!
